Auto

Washington State requires that persons carry liability insurance on automobiles driven on public roads in the state. For most, that’s just the start of what they really need to protect themselves, their assets and their vehicles. If your vehicle is newer, financed, or is your sole vehicle coverage for damage to it can be very important, if not mandatory. In addition, you may purchase coverages such as for medical expenses and loss of wages you and your passengers may suffer, or coverage to protect yourself from loss by an uninsured motorist. Many companies offer a discount on their auto insurance policies if you also insure your home, condo, or renters insurance.

Home

For most people their home is their largest asset and, as such, needs to be properly insured. Homeowner’s policies cover much more than just damage to your home. You also get coverage for unattached structures, personal property, loss of use and liability. They usually may be customized to provide coverage for items and hazards that are excluded in a basic policy. Homeowners policies generally offer replacement cost coverage for the home and your personal property, and often companies will provide a discount if you insure your automobile with them as well.

Motorcycle

Motorcyclists are much more likely to customize their bikes than their automobile, and as such need insurance with a company that understands the motorcycling public. We represent several companies that offer specialized policies geared for the motorcyclist. Some offer up to $5000 coverage for custom equipment at no extra charge, roadside assistance and even trip interruption coverage.

Renters

Even if you don’t own a home, you need coverage for your belongings as well as liability insurance. If the rental unit you live in burned down, or if you were burglarized you could suffer a severe financial loss. Most renters insurance policies offer replacement cost coverage for your belongings and, as with homeowners policies, often may be customized to provide coverage for items and hazards that are excluded from the basic policy.

Boat

Whether you own a personal watercraft, a yacht or something in between, we most likely can offer an insurance policy that will cover your boat. Often we can insure your boat with the same company we use to insure your home and automobiles, thus offering discounts for your boat policy.

RVs

RVers are special people and love the adventure of traveling and camping in their recreational vehicle, whether it’s a motor home, a travel trailer or a tent trailer. Sometimes just adding your RV to your auto insurance policy is sufficient; sometimes it’s better to purchase a specialized policy. We can help you determine which you should do for your RV, and offer a competitive price. We represent several companies that offer specialized RV policies, some of which may be customized to handle the needs of you snow-birds and full-timers.

Mobile

Mobile homes policies tend to be similar to a regular homeowner policy. They offer coverage for the home, unattached structures, your personal property, loss of use and provide liability coverage. Some will offer replacement cost coverage for your home so that, if destroyed, you may replace your home with a new one. As a Foremost agent, we can even offer good coverage for those older mobiles.

Condo

Condominium associations usually provide coverage for the structure in which your condo exists, but it’s up to you to provide coverage for your personal belongings, liability and most often interior items such as kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Condominium policies tend to be very inexpensive for the value they offer, and often may qualify for discounts if your condo is insured by the same company as your automobile.

Fire

Most fire insurance policies today are written to cover a rental property. Properties up to a four-plex may be insured under a personal lines-type policy, though some companies limit it to tri-plexes. Our agency has a number of companies that offer fire insurance policies, some offering discounts if we also insure your home and automobiles.

Umbrella

If you’re really serious about protecting your personal assets, you need an umbrella policy. The umbrella policy basically provides an additional level of liability insurance over your other personal policies, i.e., those for your automobile, home, boat, RV etc. With rising lawsuit settlements these days, an umbrella policy is important even if you don’t have a lot of assets, and is a bargain when considering the peace of mind it can give.
